2026 Annual Members Meeting

Gainesville Petanque held their annual members meeting at Northside Park on February 8, 2026 after regular club play and social hour.

Sarah Lauerman led the meeting and the first order of business was to reelect Sarah President. It was motioned and seconded to remove term limits from the club bylaws.

Brenden Burke was appointed vice president.

We discussed last years accomplishments and current year goals. Among them were the Amelia Island social, club select doubles tournament, special holiday themed gatherings and participation in the City of Gainesville Senior Games. We look forward to continuing those events into the new year.

Many thanks to Steve Scott for getting petanque courts added to the new county park at west end. We are expecting to get enough courts to host FPUSA tournaments in 2028.

TROPHIES & CERTIFICATES

Dorian Lucey was awarded a trophy for the most total pigs amassing an amazing 116 overall.

Peter Saari, Anne White, and Stephen Lagner were awarded pig trophies for the categories Dorian did not win.

Sue Percival and Brenden Burke were awarded trophies for Most Improved.

Anne and Peter were given plaques for honorable mention in that category.

Trophies and Certificates were awarded to Dorian for keeping the courts groomed all year and Sue Percival for her outstanding snacks every week.
