Gainesville Petanque Visits Oak Hammock

On June 16, Members of Gainesville Petanque were invited to an Open House to compete with residents of the Oak Hammock Retirement Community.

Resident and Former Gainesville Petanque member Maurice Levy worked hard for several months building 4 courts for the residents to enjoy the game of petanque.

Our club was invited to share our love of the game with residents there and introduce them to the game.

All 4 courts were utilized with residents and club members integrating into games of triples.

Refreshments were served and despite the heat, everyone had a good time.

Thanks Maurice for allowing us to share your hard work. We hope that the Oak Hammock community will come to enjoy the game as much as we do, and thanks to the many members who showed up to christen the courts.
